Georgia Artist Who Painted That Beavis & Butt-Head Mural Of Jason Aldean Speaks Out: “I Love The Hate”

Jason Aldean mural

Last week, a specific mural in Macon, Georgia began to set the internet on fire…

And it was no other than a mural of Jason Aldean.

Except it was more of a Dollar General version of Aldean (ironic because it was painted on the side of a Dollar General), and looked more similar to Beavis & Butthead than the country singer.

Even Aldean’s own dad said they “did him dirty” with the depiction.

Needless to say, it was probably a bit of a slap in the face to the man himself.

Although he was flattered by the move, he was still a little shook about the finished product:

“I have no idea, I started seeing pictures of it popping up on Facebook, and then, I think my dad sent it to me, and he was like ‘Well this is cool, they just kinda did you dirty.’

The mural, you know, it’s weird, it’s like, obviously I appreciate the gesture and think that it’s a cool thing.

But when I looked at it, I was like, ‘God, man, is that how people see me?'”

Although people have been absolutely TORCHING the painting online, it appears that the artist, who has been identified as Shamika Bussey, doesn’t mind the criticism one bit.

She told 13 WMAZ:

“I love the hate. I was laughing when he said his dad said I did him dirty.

I did it in the rain, in two hours because of the rain, and I stood on the top of my truck and did it, and I put my heart into it and I felt so proud when it was done. Nobody could take that away from me.

I saw was people have an opinion… everybody has a right to their opinion and I’m like, ‘That’s life,’ and in life, people love us or hate us.”

In fact, Bussey has received so much notoriety over the painting, that she’s having a meet-and-greet this Saturday.

Nevertheless, I still can’t stop laughing my ass off at the painting, and considering Aldean’s last album was named after Macon, Georgia (and was also pretty laughable), it’s just too perfect.
