Twitter Calls Conan Gray’s 2022 Home Run Derby National Anthem The Worst Rendition Since Fergie’s

Conan Grey

Ouch…

The national anthem is one of those performances that most singers consider a pleasure to do. Honoring this great country ahead of a sporting event is a pretty cool experience that gets amplified even more when you’re at the Super Bowl, an All-Star game, or a do-or-die playoff game.

It can also be incredible nerve-racking since the entire world is watching and you’re gonna hear it if you shit the bed. In fact, it’s almost like they want you to fail.

The secret is to just keep it simple.

When you get too far off the reservation and start taking some creative liberties, it can go south in a hurry.

Enter Fergie.

Fergie’s performance of The Star-Spangled Banner at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game is widely regarded as the worst performance of all time.

Here’s a quick refresher…

Until tonight…

Kicking off the 2022 MLB Home Run Derby was California native Conan Gray, and let’s just say… he better not check Twitter.

To be honest, I’m not sure who the dude is (probably some TikTok star they chose in an effort to get teenagers to tune in), but he gave it the ol’ college try and unfortunately, well… the internet hated it.

Congrats on being the #1 trending topic on Twitter Conan:
