Just taking it all in.
I feel like this is a pretty common unwritten rule when it comes to bear encounters… or pretty much any wild animal.
Don’t feed them.
Of course, people are dumb, or ignorant, or overly curious, or all of the above, and still proceed to do it anyways.
Here’s yet another example, as video footage shows a mama bear and a couple of her cubs crossing a busy road in Northern California.
As the mother and cubs make their way across the road, the driver of one of the stopped cars decides to throw a french fry out the window to the group.
Sure enough, the mother gladly obliges, and that’s where they could’ve easily messed up.
It’s like feeding a stray cat. If you do it one time, they won’t stop coming back, and this is a similar situation here.
The mother, who looks like she doesn’t hunt much anymore, and cubs approach the car, and the driver quickly rolls all of the windows back up. Throughout the video, you see the cubs running underneath the car, the mother sniffing around it, and one of the cubs even tries to bite his own reflection on the car.
Needless to say, what could’ve been a dangerous situation with a pissed off mother bear turned out to be pretty daggum cute.
By the end of the video, the cubs hilariously sprint back across the road, and begin to chase each other up a tree, while the mother bear sticks around for one more close encounter with the car…
She gets up on her hind legs, and stares at the driver straight through the window.
