Lainey Wilson Flawlessly Covers Janis Joplin’s “Mercedes Benz” In Outdoor Jam Session

Lainey Wilson is a badass.

The rising star has really blown up in the past year or two, and for good reason: She’s unbelievably talented. With her rise to now being a powerhouse of a name for female country artists (and now a cast member of Yellowstone), it seems there’s nothing that’s going to slow her down.

While in Napa recently, Lainey and her crew sat down for a little outdoor jam session, flawlessly covering Janis Joplin’s 1970 song “Mercedes Benz” combined with her hit, “LA.”

If you’re not familiar, the Janis Joplin original features rugged lyrics about making it by when you’re broke. Joplin’s version only features her keeping rhythm and no other backup melodies.

Wilson adds a little flare to this simple song with a bit of help from her band, keeping it stripped down but adding some harmonica and harmonies. And the beat they created for “Mercedes Benz” blends perfectly into “LA.”

This outdoor session highlights Wilson’s raw talent, passion for music, and this is downright fun.
