Joker Sequel, ‘Joker: Folie à Deux,’ Is Officially In The Works

The Joker

The Joker is BACK.

Joker was arguably the biggest movie of 2019, earning a league leading 11 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, anchored by a phenomenal performance from Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker. He won the Oscar for Best Actor and Hildur Guðnadóttir won Best Original Score.

It also became the first R-rated film to gross a billion dollars in its first week.

And now, it appears as though a sequel is in the mix.

Director Todd Phillips posted the news on Instagram today, featuring a cover of the script as well as the working title, Joker: Folie à Deux. The second shot was a picture of actor Joaquin Phoenix reading the script.

Written by Scott Silver and Todd Phillips, the two masterminds behind the original 2019 Joker film, there’s really no other news than there appears to be a script that is being written, if not already finished, and that Phoenix is once again involved.

Of course, the new Robert Pattinson Batman movie, The Batman, was recently released (and it was actually pretty damn good), which also featured a brief appearance from the Joker, played by Barry Keoghan.

Get excited.
