John Madden Will Return To The Cover For ‘Madden 23,’ His First Time Since 2000

John Madden

Late December last year, we lost a football icon in John Madden, who died unexpectedly at the age of 85.

The man wracked up an impressive 103-32-7 record as an NFL head coach, with his 76.3% winning percentage ranking second in NFL history.

Although he was a legendary head coach, he was most known for his incredible broadcasting career with CBS Sports, which spanned from 1979 to 2009.

His charisma, and ability to simplify the game for all NFL fans was second to none, as he quickly became a fan favorite during broadcasts.

And we all know and love his NFL video game, Madden, which kicked off in 1988.

Even though he kickstarted the video game series that still drops yearly today, his face hasn’t been on the cover since 2000…

Until now, as EA Sports revealed the new cover for Madden 23, which features the original picture of Madden used in the very first game.

What an incredible way to honor such an icon for the game of football.
