Dad Makes Impressive One-Handed Catch With Child In His Other Arm At New York Mets Game

A group of people on a stage

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again… there’s never been a more defining moment as a baseball fan, than when a home run ball or foul ball is flying at you at an insanely quick rate while sitting in the stands.

Many have tried, many have failed, and some have pulled off a miraculous catch in epic fashion, either securing the catch without spilling a drop of beer sitting in their hand…

And then you have this baby back bitch watching a Kansas baseball game with his girlfriend, who sees a ball flying at them and proceeds to duck and cover while the girl gets nailed by the ball.

However, this may be the most impressive feat:

Making the catch with your kid on your shoulder.

The New York Mets and Washington Nationals were squaring off last night, when Mets outfielder Starling Marte went deep for a two-run homer in the bottom of the first, nearly right over dead centerfield.

Although the homer was an absolute bomb, the best highlight from the game came from this dad, who leaned over the railing with his small child on his shoulder, snagging a one handed catch without dropping his kid.

Needless to say, his efforts could’ve ended quite poorly (like dropping the whole kid and hurting him), but he made the play smooth as butter.

Granted, he caught in on a bounce, but nevertheless, he risked it all for that ball… and he got it.

Wonder what mom thinks…
