Who cares so little about a harmless dog’s life, that they’d decide to shoot an arrow into it?
It truly is unbelievable, and if it were up to me, I’d throw these people under the jail.
The story comes out of Thousand Palms, California, where a chihuahua puppy was discovered with an arrow shot through its neck, according to the New York Post.
As sickening of an image as this is, the puppy is expected to make a full recovery.
The Riverside County Animal Service said in a statement that a woman reported the horrid incident to 911, saying she found the dog in Desert Hot Springs on Monday, after hearing the puppy “screaming.”
A sheriff’s deputy picked up the four-month-old dog, and took her to an animal services officer who brought her to the Coachella Valley Animal Campus.
Luckily enough, the arrow didn’t hit the puppy’s vital arteries, and was able to be successfully removed.
Animal Services Director Erin Gettis weighed in on the sickening act:
“For someone to willfully shoot this poor pup with an arrow is disgusting. We are shocked and we hope someone can provide us any information as to who did this.”
Gettis said they will continue to treat the puppy to 100%, and will work on finding her a home.
Veterinary technician Emily Ellison said the puppy is sweet, and is confused why somebody would do such a thing:
“I cannot imagine why anyone would do something so terrible to such an innocent creature. It’s very sick.”
