Morgan Wallen To Release “You Proof” On His 29th Birthday

Morgan Wallen country music

Morgan Wallen is on a roll dropping new music.

He just released “Don’t Think Jesus” on Good Friday (which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Chart), has another new one called “Thought You Should Know” coming out on May 6th dedicated to his mom for Mother’s Day, and he just announced another new track.

“You Proof” is set to be released on his birthday, Friday, May 13th, and he shared a teaser of the studio version on TikTok earlier, saying it will be a birthday present to himself:

“Y’all know I couldn’t forget this one. Birthday present to myself. May 13th.”

He actually teased it back in July of 2021, and like most of the songs he shares demo clips of on social media, fans were begging to get the studio cut ASAP.

The song itself is based on a pretty simple concept, where Morgan’s admittedly been trying to drink his heartbreak away with the highest proof of alcohol he can find, yet seemingly can’t drink anything that’s strong enough to rid him of the memory of this girl.

Check out some of the lyrics:

“Ain’t nobody sellin’ nothin’ you proof
Somethin’ stronger than I’m used to
I’ve been pourin’ 90 to 100
Feel like nothin’s gonna cut it
That’s the hard truth
I need somethin’ you proof”

This one will be quite different from the other two new releases in terms of the sound and sentiment, and even though Morgan put out a record-breaking double album in Dangerous just last year, he’s already back to releasing some of the fan-favorite’s on such significant dates in his life.

“Don’t Think Jesus” is easily my favorite song in Morgan’s catalog thus far, so I’m excited to hear what else he has coming on these other new tunes:
