Miranda Lambert has a brand new album, Palomino, coming next week.
And she’s also gearing up for a Las Vegas residency this fall called Velvet Rodeo.
Of course, you have to do it up big in Vegas, and Miranda recently opened up a little bit about what fans can expect if they’re heading to Sin City for a show.
She’s says they’re taking the production of a regular Miranda concert to a whole new level:
“‘Velvet Rodeo’ felt right off the bat when this Vegas residency came to the table. I think it feels feminine, but it also says rodeo. So that’s like feminine and badass, and that’s kinda what I tried to build my career on.
So that’s like a nutshell of my catalog, really. The idea that we could take it up a few notches for production is exciting to me, and scary, because I usually just keep it pretty much about the music.”
And as a girl who typically doesn’t even do outfit changes on tour, this will really be a unique experience for both Miranda and her fans:
“You know, I’m from Texas, so bigger hair and more sequins… don’t threaten me with a good time. This will be a one of a kind Miranda Lambert experience, that’s the point of Vegas.
So I’m trying to figure out the puzzle pieces and how to get from “Kerosene” to ‘Palomino’ in the most artistic and fun way.”
And she hopes that, in the end, her time there will give her a new perspective on her process going forward.
And of course, she’s planning to bring her A game to every single show:
“It will be so different, and I think it’s gonna be a new energy for me. I think it’s gonna hopefully bring new life into my process, you know, ‘cuz it’s Vegas. You need to bring your A game. It’s Sin City.
There’s everything you ever wanted there, and I wanna be one of those things people want. I wanna be one of the things on their list.”
I think I’m going to be taking a trip to Vegas this fall…
