HunterGirl Wows ‘American Idol’ With Performance Of Miranda Lambert’s “Vice”

We’ve seen some pretty good American Idol performances this season.

From covers like “Whiskey Glasses”, “Rock Salt & Nails” and “Rainbow”, there’s been no shortage of country music on the stage.

And last night, HunterGirl, whose real name is Hunter Wolkonowski, put her own spin on Miranda Lambert’s hit “Vice”.

“Vice” was the lead single from Miranda’s sixth studio album, The Weight of These Wings. Written by Miranda along with Josh Osborne and Shane McAnally, the song peaked at #2 on the Billboard U.S. Hot Country Songs chart the year of its release.

It’s always been one of my favorite songs, and I don’t think it gets nearly enough credit for how damn good it really is. It really set the tone for the album, and gave us a glimpse at a Miranda Lambert we hadn’t seen before.

HunterGirl made it to the Top 14, but I have a feeling she’s going to go a whole lot further. A native of Winchester, Tennessee, the fan-favorite contestant regularly plays bars on Broadway, and she previously covered Ashley McBryde’s “Girl Goin’ Nowhere” on the show, as well.

She has so much stage presence, and clearly, the girl can sing:
