Ashland Craft Releases Live Performance Video For “Highway Like Me”

Ashland Craft is continuing her live performance video series with another great one today.

She recently dropped two for “That’s The Kinda Place” and “Make It Past Georgia”, but now, we’re getting one for “Highway Like Me”, which was written by Ashland along with the great Jessi Alexander and Reid Isbell.

A beautiful duet with Marcus King on her 2021 debut album Travelin’ Kind, the live version she dropped today is pretty similar to the original in terms of the more simple, stripped down production, which is perfect for this track.

There’s something about her voice on these live performances that’s pure and raspy all at the same time… it’s just so unique and sincere that I can’t help but love it.

In a post on Instagram, Ashland noted that the song reminds her of a country classic, and I have to agree. Especially on this version, it’s one of those songs you can throw on while drinking a cold beer and get all up in your feels:

“To put it simply, this is a song with a classic country feel that perfectly describes who I am.”

Check out the chorus, I think it pretty much sums it up:

“Oh, when you’re on
A highway like me
It rolls on and on
You’re runnin’ full speed
Yeah, it goes where it wants
Don’t know where it leads
But it’s a hell of a ride
When you’re takin’ a drive
On a highway like me”

Y’all better go ahead and get on the Ashland Craft train now… don’t say I didn’t warn you, because she’s fixin’ to blow up:
