For the average golf fan, it’s the best time of the year.

Why, you may ask?

Because it’s Masters week, the greatest golf tournament in the world.

However, the week just got that much better…

Because Tiger Woods announced that he’ll be playing in this year’s tournament.

The five-time Masters champion made the announcement at Augusta National today, saying:

“As of right now, I feel like I am going to play. I worked hard to get to this point to test it out and see if I can do this.”

This will be the first individual tournament the 15-time major champ will play in since his horrific car crash back in February of last year, where he ran off the side of the road in Los Angeles, basically shattering his leg.

He competed in the PNC Championship with his son Charlie last year, and showed flashes of his old self as the two finished second in the tournament as a team.

We’ve been dying for this news for the past week or so, as reports circulated that Tiger was in Augusta practicing, and “testing the waters” before making a “game time decision.”

I’d say viewership for this year’s tournament just skyrocketed to a mind-boggling level.
