Tyler Childers & Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir Team Up For Duet Of “Greatest Story Ever Told”

If you missed Tyler Childers performing alongside Grateful Dead legend Bob Weir last night at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, you’re in luck…

Because there will be another performance tonight.

Tyler and a number of other special guests joined Bob and his band Wolf Bros., along with the Wolfpack for a special two-night 50th anniversary concert celebration of his debut solo album Ace.

Released in 1972, Ace was Weirs first “solo album,” although aside from Ron “Pigpen” McKernan, it featured every member of Grateful Dead, and featured studio recordings of live hits like “Playing in the Band,” “Black-Throated Wind” and “One More Saturday Night.”

And last night, Tyler teamed up with Bob for a performance of “Greatest Story Ever Told.”

The song is the first track on Bob Weir’s 1972 solo album Ace, but before that it, it was a cut on Grateful Dead percussionist Mickey Hart’s 1972 solo album Rolling Thunder, where it was titled, “The Pump Song.”

If you’re looking to check out night two, it will also be livestreamed on FANS Live.

According to the set list from last night, Tyler also joined them for a performance of “You Win Again.”

And of course, the original version:
