Not since Kanye West stormed the stage to interrupt Taylor Swift have we seen an awards show go off the rails like this.
While introducing the nominees for Best Documentary, Chris Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith (who has been open about her hair-loss struggle) starring in the next GI Jane movie.
Will Smith didn’t take too kindly to that.
He marched his ass up to the stage, cracked Chris Rock across the face, and sat back down.
Chris was left stunned and told the crowd:
“Will Smith just slapped the shit out of me…”
To which Will replied:
“Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth.”

During the commercial it appeared as though Denzel Washington, Tyler Perry and others attempted to comfort Will.
