The Joker Shows Up In Bone-Chilling Deleted Scene From ‘The Batman’

The Batman has been doing some numbers since its release on March 4th, and I’ll be the first to admit, I was skeptical about how this movie would fare against my personal Batman favorite, The Dark Knight.

Especially with Robert Pattinson (the vampire guy from Twilight) taking over as the new Batman.

However, the movie exceeded my expectations by a long shot, and it’s a VERY close second to The Dark Knight.

Of course, I’m not going to spoil the movie for anybody, but rather talk about this eerie deleted scene that director Matt Reeves released, involving Batman’s meeting with the Joker in prison.

In the scene, you hear a near hairless, scarred up, and blurry Joker, as he asks Batman:

“Almost our anniversary, isn’t it?”

Reeves discussed the scene in an interview with Variety:

“You realize that they have a relationship, and that this guy obviously did something, and Batman somehow got him into Arkham.”

Batman met up with Joker to try and figure out why the Riddler is doing what he’s doing, as he continues to leave cryptic notes behind at all of his crimes.

Joker continues:

“Maybe he’s a fan of yours? Or maybe he’s got a grudge against you, too. Maybe you’re the main course.”

Joker proceeds to heckle Batman, trying to get him to come to terms with the fact that he doesn’t necessarily believe what the Riddler is doing is wrong, considering Gotham’s corrupt leaders.

“I think somewhere deep down, you’re just terrified, because you’re not sure he’s wrong.”
