Good Lord…
Even after Urban Meyer gets fired as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, he continues to take Ls.
Meyer had arguably the worst run in NFL coaching history last year, from the garbage performance of his team, to the viral video of a girl grinding on him at a bar, to practically calling out his coaching staff’s manhood, and even kicking his own kicker.
Needless to say, it was a total shit show down in Jacksonville, and he had to go.
However, it appears the insanity doesn’t stop there.
According to a new report from The Athletic, Meyer had absolutely no clue who Aaron Donald and a number of other star players around the league were.
While he was researching the NFL in preparation to take the Jags’ head coaching job, a source told the outlet that he asked the question:
“Who’s this 99 guy on the Rams? I’m hearing he might be a problem for us.”
Well, Mr. coach Meyer, that 99 guy has been the top defensive lineman in the league for practically the past eight years, and is a household name to anybody who has basic knowledge of NFL football… and now, he’s a Super Bowl champ.
Other players he was unfamiliar with include 49ers WR Deebo Samuel and Seahawks safety Jamal Adams.
I’ll cut him some slack (VERY small amount of slack) for not knowing who Deebo Samuel is, considering he truly didn’t burst onto the scene until this past season and missed a lot of time in 2020, but it’s still insanity Meyer didn’t know who these guys were. I mean, you’re an NFL coach for fuck’s sake?
That should’ve been a red flag right there, Jacksonville.
Needless to say, Twitter is having a field day with it:
He also reportedly berated his players on more than one occasion, saying a number of them would be working low-paying jobs if they weren’t playing football. In another instance, he implied that players from the South were dumb.
