It’s no secret that Koe Wetzel is on top of the world at the moment, with his completely unique blend of Texas country rock. As versatile as they come, he can have you crying in your whiskey or banging your head along with your buddies.
The guy can pack a room like nobody’s business, but it’s his authenticity and kickass music that’s put him at the top.
With that being said, the man had to get his start somewhere.
I was digging through the vaults, and found this ancient video of ol’ Koe with the clean shaven baby face, short hair, and badass pearl snap at the 2011 District FFA Competition in his area.
On top of that, he’s playing one of the Randy Rogers Band’s greatest hits, “In My Arms Instead.” Written by Randy alongside Sean McConnell, “In My Arms Instead” was a cut from RRB’s 2008, self-titled record, Randy Rogers Band.
At the time, he was probably gearing up for his freshman season as a linebacker for the Tarleton State Texans, having no clue how this music thing was gonna work out.
Fast forward over a decade later, and I’d say he couldn’t have dreamed it up any better.
