Zach Bryan Posts Sweet Cover Of “You Are My Sunshine” With Old Home Video Footage From Childhood

Well, this is the sweetest thing you’ll see all day.

Zach Bryan posted a precious video with tons of home video from his childhood and growing up with some of his family members, and it’s even more heart-melting that the background music is a simple cover of him singing “You Are My Sunshine”.

He said his late mother, DeAnn, used to sing that song to him and his sister when they were younger:

“Excuse me for a few weeks because my old man’s been sending me home videos the last few months and my mom used to sing us kids to sleep with this song.”

The song was originally copyrighted and published by Jimmie Davis and Charles Mitchell in 1940, but has been covered by at least 350 artists over the years and is a classic that I think most of us are very familiar with.

I mean, I think a lot of us probably even have similar memories to Zach in terms of that specific song from when we were younger, and it’s a touching video to see him as a baby and little boy with his mom back in those days because they were so close all the way up until her passing.

Is it too early to be crying on a Thursday morning?

Zach’s debut studio album, American Heartbreak, is slated to drop on May 20th. He previously released the lead single, “From Austin,” a few weeks ago and you’ll definitely want to check that out if you haven’t yet:
