Ok, this is how you start an awards show.

Eric Church kicked off the performances at this year’s ACM Awards, and as usual, he gave us a performance that’ll make you wanna run through a brick wall.

That’s right, Chief took us for a trip down memory lane with a medley of some of his biggest hits spanning his entire career, all the way from his debut album Sinners Like Me to his latest triple album Heart & Soul, and everything in between.

The full song list for the medley included: “How Bout You,” “Guys Like Me,” “Love Your Love The Most,” “Smoke A Little Smoke,” “Drink In My Hand,” “Springsteen,” “Talladega,” “Give Me Back My Hometown,” “Mr. Misunderstood,” “Round Here Buzz,” “Record Year,” “Desperate Man,” “Some Of It,” and “Hell Of A View.”

But if you look close, that wasn’t Eric’s normal backup singer, Joanna Cotten, standing behind him.

No, it was actually another country superstar, Ashley McBryde, singing backup for Church. And for the big finish, he brought Ashley front and center for a duet of his latest single, “Heart on Fire” – and it was fucking INCREDIBLE.

Hear me out: Next year’s Super Bowl halftime show?
