Ashley McBryde Debuts Unreleased New Song “Women Ain’t Whiskey” And It Needs To Be On The Next Album

It’s about time we get some new music from Ashley McBryde.

She released her second studio album, Never Will, in 2020, and is currently out on the road for her massive headlining This Town Talks tour.

And not long ago at a show at the Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, South Carolina, she debuted a brand new one called “Women Ain’t Whiskey” that I already love.

She describes a situation where a man keeps going back to a girl the way he does with alcohol (when he gets the craving or needs to numb his feelings), even though, clearly, women don’t deserve that and quite honestly, really can’t take the emotional torture that kind of relationship brings.

Check out some of the lyrics:

“I ain’t everything you want,
Something else can get you drunk,
Women ain’t whiskey,
You can’t just quit me
When you get lonely,
Don’t pick me back up”

We know she’ll be featured on an upcoming duet called “One Heartbeat” for Kip Moore’s forthcoming (but not yet specified) album he’s planning to drop sometime this summer, but I hope Ashley has some solo music of her own coming soon, too.

And if she does, I really hope this one makes the cut:
