Team Hendrick and driver Alex Bowman won big in Las Vegas over the weekend, and NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick has added even more to his initial donation to Samaritan’s Purse for their disaster relief efforts in Ukraine.

He announced last week that he was donating $200,000 to Samaritan’s Purse in order to aid the Ukrainian people in their continuing fight against the Russian invasion.

That was all in addition to an extra $2,000 for every lap that one of his four cars leads this past Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

I, and many other NASCAR fans, were all-in on any of the team Hendrick cars for that reason alone.

Alex ended up securing a trophy in Sin City after a wild overtime finish. On the final restart, he battled with fellow team Hendrick driver Kyle Larson side by side for the win before Bowman pulled away coming out of the final turn and took the checkered flag over his teammate.

Alex and Kyle led 16 and 27 laps each, respectively, while William Byron led 8 in the #24 Hendrick car on his way to a fifth place finish. Those 51 laps led added an extra $102,000 to the donation to Samaritan’s Purse, bringing the total to $302,000.

And how about those overtime laps adding an extra couple thousand to the six-figure donation?

You couldn’t draw it up any better than that:

Alex’s win was team Hendrick’s second in a row, after Kyle won last week at the Auto Club 400 in California.

Kyle’s car also featured a Samaritan’s Purse logo to help promote its efforts during the race on Sunday:
