Randy Houser & Jamey Johnson Team Up For Moving Opry Performance Of “Lead Me Home”

Jamey Johnson Randy Houser

I think I say this every time I blog about Randy Houser, but I still think Magnolia is one of my favorite records of the past handful of years… it’s just fantastic.

That big, soulful country voice, some country heartbreakers, some tasty blues guitar licks, and rock solid songwriting… I just love it.

And then team him up with Jamey Johnson (who needs no introduction), I just love everything about these two hitting the road together.

But before they kick off their Country Cadillac Tour Part 2 later this spring, they paid a visit to the Grand Ole Opry last night. And thank God they did.

They treated fans to a performance of Houser’s “Evangeline,” Jamey’s “Lead Me Home,” which was co-written Houser himself.

And of course, Jamey delivered a hilarious interlude with that signature Jamey Johnson humor:

“Well y’all look weird… they let us take the britches off our face when we walked in here so that was very kind of the Opry.

I know just like the rest of y’all were all looking forward to everything getting back to some sense of normal but ain’t this been so much fun getting fat? Just fat…

I mean, me and Randy Houser were the biggest duo in country music when we started touring acoustic back in February, and now we’re the biggest losers… we lost about 50 pounds a piece. We need a tour to get us moving and out of the kitchen…. the biscuits were killing me.”

If this doesn’t prove that you need to get your ass out to see them together this spring, I don’t know what will.
