RodeoHouston 2019: George Strait’s Grandson Harvey Joins Him For Heartwarming Performance Of “God & Country Music”

Keep it in the family.

With the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show underway this week, let’s take it back to 2019.

During a record-setting performance at NRG Stadium, George Strait capped off the RodeoHouston in front of over 80,000 country music fans, but not without some help from a special guest.

One of unquestionable highlights of the night, George invited his young grandson Harvey on stage to join him for a heart-melting performance of “God & Country Music.”

Much like the studio recording, Harvey comes in at the end and absolutely steals the show.

And of course, the studio version:

George Strait Announces Arrowhead Stadium Show Featuring Chris Stapleton

Flashforward to today, and George Strait is taking it to another stadium, and he’s bringing Chris Stapleton with him.

Chris recently joined George Strait in Minneapolis. After opening for the King, Stapleton joined him onstage later in the show to perform a killer duet of the Waylon Jennings classic “Waymore’s Blues.”

The King has also announced he’s coming to Kansas City, Missouri, to play a show at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, July 30th, the home of the Kansas City Chiefs.

And Chris Stapleton will once again be joining him.

And speaking of George and Chris, how about a little “Love’s Gonna Make It Alright,” written by none other than Chris himself.
