Luke Grimes, AKA Kayce Dutton, Weighs In On Bad*ss Scene Locking That Guy Under His Cattle Guard

Kayce Dutton Yellwostone

As a fan of Yellowstone, how can you not like Kayce Dutton?

I mean, he went a little off the rails at the end of Season 4, but overall, he is easily one of the most likeable characters in the entire show.

The man is definitely the most reasonable of the Dutton bunch who will do anything to support Monica and Tate, but knows how to lay down the law as Livestock Commissioner, and isn’t afraid to kick some ass and take some names (or sometimes even lives ) when he has to.

Perhaps my most favorite Kayce scene comes from Season Four, when rancher Emmett Walsh comes to his office to voice a complaint about a rich asshole neighbor of his put up cattle guards all up the road, intervening with his cattle.

If you haven’t figured it out yet, the Livestock Commissioner seems to hold more weight than the Sheriff and Police Chief combined in their neck of the woods in Montana, so needless to say, Kayce was ready to take matters into his own hands.

Luke Grimes (Kayce) weighed in on the situation:

“He’s (Emmett) having a problem with one of his neighbors, and I go to kinda try to help him out. The guy I end up running into, his neighbor, is just a very shmarmy, annoying, sort of rich guy.

Kayce just does not like this guy at all. In a way he sort of teaches him a lesson, and puts the guy in his place.”

So what does Kayce do?

He throws the neighbor into the cattle guard and left him in there, and he hits us with a badass line:

“If you like the cattle guards so much, why don’t you fucking live in ’em?”

Legendary stuff.
