There’s been a lot of speculation recently that Jon Pardi would be announcing a new album soon. His last album was 2019’s Heartache Medication (although we did get the Rancho Fiesta Sessions, an album of cover songs, in 2020).
And his latest single, “Tequila Little Time,” just finished its run up the charts, peaking at #5 on the Billboard Country Airplay charts.
The consensus was that “Tequila Little Time” would be the final single from the last album, and that the next one we got from Pardi would be something brand new from an upcoming album.
Well it looks like that’s officially the case.
Pardi just announced a new single, “Last Night Lonely,” coming next week, while also officially confirming that album #4 is on the way.
There’s no word yet on when the new album will drop, but Pardi had previously hinted at a fall release on a recent podcast appearance:
“It’s been a crazy year. A lot of these projects I’m doing right now is something I’ve been waiting to do. I took 2020 off of songwriting. I wrote here and there, and now this year we’re really going to buckle down and write songs.
After ‘Tequila Little Time,’ hopefully it goes all the way to the top – wherever it lands, I’m happy with it – we’re going to have a new single off the next record, then we’re going to finish up the next record. Hopefully it’ll be out by September.”
Pardi’s last few albums have ended up being some of my favorites of the year, so I can’t wait to hear what he has in store for his latest project.
And it looks like we’ll be getting our first taste next week.
