VIDEO: Billy Strings’ Throwback Performance Of “Ain’t Nothing To Me” From That Iconic Basement Party

This got me more excited than it probably should have…

Remember that iconic video of Billy Strings playing “Dust In A Baggy” in some room at a party?

Of course you do, it’s got over 20 million views on YouTube now…

But if you don’t, let’s roll the tape again, shall we?

Truly phenomenal stuff…

Then a few months ago I stumbled on a second video from that iconic night, this time playing “The Preacher And The Bear,” an old time American classic.

Well, there’s now a third video…

This time it’s of him playing “Ain’t Nothing To Me,” a Leon Payne song recorded by Jim Reeves, Harland Howard, and Johnny Winter for his 1973 album Alive And Well.

It’s about a guy sitting at a bar trying to talk another guy out of talking to a girl at the end of the bar, cause her man is lurking, waiting for him to try something. But, at the end of the day, whatever happens to this guy isn’t his business so he sits back and just watches it unfold…

Honestly, a pretty great angle for a song, certainly unique. Leave it to Billy Strings to pull out an old tune like that at a party… there’s only one of him, that’s for sure.

Hope these videos keep coming. They’re just special.
