Billy Strings Debuts New “Love & Regret” Music Video

Joshua Black Wilkins

On Sundays, we listen to Billy Strings.

Billy Strings’ critically-acclaimed album Renewal landed at #3 on our Whiskey Riff Top 40 Country Albums of 2021 list, but don’t just take our word for it, ask anyone half a lick of sense and they’ll tell you that it’s a must-listen.

And to kick off the new year, Billy Strings just released a new music video for “Love & Regret,” the third track from the album.

In an interview with CMT, Strings said the video was a reflection of home. From the river, to the car, to the bar… it was all authentically “Billy Strings”:

“It’s about a man who has messed things up with his lover. So while he’s not thinking straight, he runs off to be alone in the woods and dwells on the past. It’s kind of a literal song, so I think the video just follows that vibe.

When I was younger, and things were bad, I used to go sit by the river and just listen to the sound of it… wishing I was one of them floating leaves being taken far away

I felt like we did a pretty good job at creating a visual representation of the song. Shout out to the director and actors and such. Everyone coming together to help bring this to life really meant a lot to me.

I appreciate everything everyone does to help spread the word about our music.”
