Morgan Wallen made another surprise appearance last night.

This time, he joined Lil Durk at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena to sing their #1 hit “Broadway Girls” at MLK Freedom Fest. The track recently reached the top spot on the Billboard U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

This appearance comes just a week after Morgan joined his friend and frequent collaborator, Ernest, at his Grand Ole Opry debut to sing their new song “Flower Shops”.

The performance drew criticism from fellow artists like Jason Isbell, Rissi Palmer, and Joy Oladokun because of Morgan’s previous controversy when he was caught using the N-word on camera in February of 2021.

Morgan released “Broadway Girls” with Lil Durk as a surprise last month after it had viral success on TikTok, and this is he first time they’ve performed it together live since then.

The lineup at MLK Freedom Fest in Nashville last night also included Moneybagg Yo, Rod Wave, and Latto.

Lil Durk introduced Morgan, saying he’s “genuine at heart.” and added this:

“Can’t nobody cancel shit without me saying it, you know what I’m saying?”
