You gotta love one of the current greats, paying tribute to some of the past greats.

It ain’t a secret that Jon Pardi can cover a country song or twenty. Hell, the dude can even cover some classic ’80s pop songs, and proved that with his Rancho Fiesta Sessions he dropped last year. He recently even covered a Metallica song.

More recently, he covered one of his OG country music heroes, Mr. Randy Travis, in honor of him winning the CMAs “Artist of a Lifetime” award.

Pardi covered some legendary Travis hits like “On the Other Hand,” and “Forever and Ever, Amen,” and even got a surprise visit from the guy, making the California cowboy tear up a little.

And now, the man is back at it again, as he covered some more Randy Travis at one of the greatest stages in country music, the Grand Ole Opry.

Travis was at the Opry to celebrate his 35th anniversary of his country music career with Warner Music Nashville, and not to mention, he officially went RIAA Gold Platinum, and Multi-Platinum, after selling over 21 million copies from his Warner Music catalog.

Treating fans to a special performance of “1982,” Pardi once again proves he can cover the classics with the best of them.

Others who made an appearance at the Opry include Carly Pearce, and legendary songwriter Don Schlitz.
