Randy Travis Awarded 5 New RIAA Certifications, Honored By Grand Ole Opry For 35 Years Of Membership

The great Randy Travis has earned himself a few more pieces of hardware.

The Marshville, North Carolina native has been awarded 5 new certifications from RIAA: 2x Platinum for “Forever And Ever, Amen,” Platinum for “Deeper Than The Holler,” and Gold for “On The Other Hand,” “I Told You So” and “Diggin’ Up Bones”.

He was recently honored at the Grand Ole Opry for his 35th year of membership, the new certifications and surpassing 1.6 billion streams globally, which is wildly impressive considering his peak in popularity was in the 80s and 90s, well before streaming was even a thought.

Even through health issues from a stroke, Randy has kept himself busy, posing as a wax figure, surprising today’s stars, and winning the CMT’s “Artist of a Lifetime” award.

I love when stars and legends are honored during their lifetime. So many times people are only given their dues after passing, and I believe we need to recognize artists’ greatness while they’re still around to accept it.

Hats off to Randy Travis, one of the best artists, and best men, to ever do the damn thing.

The Randy Travis portion of the Opry performance starts around the 26:48 mark of the video, but come on, don’t skip Carly Pearce and while you’re at it, why don’t you stick around for Jon Pardi?

Hell just watch the whole thing, it’s a pretty special moment at the Grand Ole Opry.
