Deana Carter Teams Up With Sara Evans, Terri Clark, & More For New Rendition Of “Did I Shave My Legs For This?”

I miss ’90s country.

They just don’t make ’em like they used to, but Deana Carter is throwing us a bone and re-releasing her iconic 1995 album Did I Shave My Legs For This? as a special 25th anniversary project.

While it mostly consists of remastered versions of all the tracks, she did do a few reworked versions of some of her classics, like “Strawberry Wine” and the title track, “Did I Shave My Legs For This?”.

Originally written by Deana and Rhonda Hart, it’s still funny 25 years later. As Deana finds herself trying to romance her husband, she realizes that he has no interest in her that night when he requests another beer and she makes him dinner while he watches TV.

The premise of the song is that, while he may have promised her the world when they were dating, life happened and she now finds herself wondering why she even shaved her legs for him and got all gussied up for nothing.

It peaked at #25 on the Billboard U.S. Hot Country Songs chart as the sixth single from the record.

This new version features her fellow ’90s country stars in Sara Evans (late ’90s early 2000s) and Terri Clark, as well as the great Ashley McBryde and even Vince Gill on the guitar.
