Last Thursday, we received the tragic news that former star wide receiver for the Denver Broncos, Demaryius Thomas, passed away in his Roswell, Georgia home at age 33.
Although it was never made clear what the cause of death was, his family believes that he died due to a seizure in the shower, as he had been suffering from seizures for the past year.
However, as more information has been released to the public, we may now know what the true cause of death was.
According to TMZ Sports, police had initially responded to Thomas’s home after they received a call “in reference to cardiac arrest.”
Via documents, the responding officers noted that the victim was “not conscious and not breathing.”
When the officers arrived, they had to push a gate open at the entrance of Thomas’s home in order to reach him.
That’s when they went inside and found him dead in the shower, laying on his back, with obvious signs of rigor mortis.
This was absolutely devastating news to the football world, as the former wide receiver was loved by so many, on and off the field.
