Alec Baldwin Says He Doesn’t Feel Guilt After Shooting: “I Might’ve Killed Myself If I Felt Responsible”

Alec Baldwin

Alec speaks.

In an ABC exclusive interview, Alec Baldwin sat down with George Stephanopoulos and walked through his recollection, and his reaction, to the tragic fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust.

Alec maintains that he did not pull the trigger, a statement that his assistant director David Halls backed up, but one of the more poignant parts of the interview was when Alec was asked if he feels guilty.

The answer is… no.

“No, no… I feel that someone is responsible for what happened, and I can’t say who that is, but I know it’s not me. I might have killed myself if I felt that I was responsible… I don’t say that lightly.”

He added that the tragic shooting continues to haunt him, and that he really couldn’t careless about his career right now:

“I have dreams about this constantly now. I go through my day and I make it through the day. Then I collapse at the end of the day. Emotionally, I collapse…

I couldn’t give a shit about my career anymore.”

He also revealed that it’s unlikely that he’ll be charged criminally:

“I’ve been told by people in the know, even people inside the state that it’s highly unlikely I’d be charged with anything criminally.”

However, according to the DA, no decision has been made.
