Matt Stafford’s Wife Kelly Won’t Be Attending Away Games Anymore After Pretzel Incident

If you’re a family member of an NFL superstar, a part of the job is dealing with heckling fans, whether it’s on the road or at home.

It’s just a part of the game… whether you like it or not.

And needless to say, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matt Stafford’s wife is learning that the hard way.

Stafford’s wife, Kelly, was caught throwing a pretzel at a heckling San Francisco 49ers fan while her husband and the Rams were getting obliterated on Monday Night Football last week, with a final score of 31-10.

Now, she’s saying that she’ll be taking a little break from road games for a while.

She said on her “The Morning After” podcast:

“I’m human, I make mistakes, and I own up to them, I don’t f*cking hide from them, that’s not me.

I’ve always been taught, I wear my heart on my sleeve so I do stuff probably in a hot second, but I also realize in a hot second, not the best, and I go up and apologize.”

She then explained that she offered to buy the fan and those he was with food and drinks, but he declined.

She was then escorted out of the stadium only five minutes into the game.

“Being a professional athlete’s significant other, you don’t want to bring attention to yourself negatively. I f*cking lost it and here we are.”

She then said that her husband was pretty chill about the situation, and laughed it off. He told her:

“Well, I wish I was as accurate as you were, but I guess only one person in the family was accurate last night.

Maybe if I wasn’t playing so sh*tty the guy wouldn’t be able to say as much to you.”

You know what they say, if ya can’t take the heat, get outta the kitchen.
