George Strait Helps Raise $1.7 Million For Military Veterans At Annual Golf Tournament In Texas

George Strait is always finding ways to help and support veterans and first responders.

He recently released a music video for his powerful song “The Weight of the Badge,” and in conjunction with the video release, helped tell the stories of some of the officers and first responders who were included in the video.

He also just hosted his 11th annual Valqueros del Mar golf benefit (and show) that supports the Feherty’s Troops First Foundation, which helped raise an incredible $1.7 million for the foundation during all the festivities.

The incredible organization provides assistance to military members and veterans, as well as their families, who have been wounded while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.

George also co-owns the Tapatio Springs Resort in Boerne, Texas where the event was held, and they donated $25,000 to that total $1.7 million number.

Since the golf tournament first launched in 2011, King George has been able to help raise over $10 million in total for veterans and other military members with that event alone, which is absolutely amazing.
