Take ’em to church.
Cody Johnson has made a habit of including a Gospel tune at the end of his record.
His album Ain’t Nothin’ To It featured a cover of the classic hymn, “His Name Is Jesus,” and before that he recorded “I Can’t Even Walk Without You Holding My Hand.”
During his recent trip to the Ryman Auditorium, he even performed a number of Gospel classics, including ‘How Great Thou Art.”
However, for his most recent project, Human: The Double Album, Cody took it upon himself to pen an original.
Titled “By Your Grace,” the Gospel tune was penned solely by Cody Johnson, and he originally premiere it last year when he handled the worship duties at the Lone Star Cowboy Church in Montgomery, Texas.
But even more recently, Cody treated the BuckVentures Outdoors crew to a solo acoustic performance of the song, and man, if that don’t hit all the right spots on a Sunday morning.
