COME ON WITH IT.

According to Deadlinethe Yellowstone season premiere drew a whopping 8 million total viewers, up a 104% from the 4.2 million views that tuned in to the Season 3 premiere.

That 8 million also makes the Kevin Costner series the most-watched cable series telecast since a 2018 episode of AMC’s The Walking Dead, and even beat out HBO’s Game of Thrones, which drew 6.6 million for its Season 4 premiere.

And because the show was a a number of channels (Paramount Network, CMT, TV Land, and Pop), not to mention the fact that there was an encore broadcast right after, the total viewers was around 11.2 million.

According to Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of MTV Entertainment Group, it sounds like that big bet they made on Taylore Sheridan is paying off.

“Taylor has created a riveting world that our remarkable cast led by Kevin Costner brings to life in a way audiences can’t get enough of.

The Yellowstone season four premiere numbers are just another reason why we are thrilled to deepen our relationship with Taylor and capitalize on this tremendous momentum by building out the Yellowstone franchise together.”

Of course, McCarthy is referring to the longterm deal they signed with Sheridan to create a number of Yellowstone spinoffs including the new 1883, as well as the upcoming Mayor Of Kingstown starring Jeremy Renner, Kyle Chandler, and more.

The first trailer for 1883, the Yellowstone prequel starring Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Sam Elliott, also debuted during last night’s season premiere.
