PETA Is Trying To Cancel The Baseball Term “Bullpen,” And Replace It With… “Arm Barn”

PETA gonna PETA…

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for taking care of animals, but I swear PETA somehow brings in a ton of money to just say stupid shit all the time.

And their latest outrageous comment?

They want to cancel the term “bullpen” in baseball.

That’s right, apparently the word “bullpen” is disgraceful and insensitive towards bulls/cows.

PETA released a news release today, calling for the end of the word “bullpen,” (the place where pitchers warm up in a baseball game, for those who somehow don’t know), and are making an effort to rename it the “arm barn.”

PETA exec. Tracy Reiman said:

“Words matter, and baseball ‘bullpens’ devalue talented players and mock the misery of sensitive animals.”

The release also said:

“Strike out the word ‘bullpen,’ which references the holding area where terrified bulls are kept before slaughter.”

First off, has anybody ever met a cow who speaks English and can understand the term “bullpen?” And before somebody says it, no, Otis from Back at the Barnyard is a fictional character. I mean seriously, this is the most outrageous take I’ve heard in a minute… and all I do is sit on the internet and listen to bullshit.

That being said… arm barn does have a nice ring to it.

They’ve even gone as far as to making their Twitter name “Arm Barn.”
