‘Monarch,’ A Country Music Drama Starring Trace Adkins & Susan Sarandon, Drops Official Trailer

Just what we need… another country music drama that is nothing like actual country music.

Last night, we got a little sneak peak of Monarch, an upcoming country music drama, between commercials of Game Two of the World Series.

The show will be based around the Roman family, who’s been dubbed country music’s first family, and stars of the show include Susan Sarandon and Trace Adkins. Sarandon plays Dottie Cantrell Roman, who in the show is the original queen of country music, and she’s joined by her husband Albie (Trace Adkins).

Here’s a synopsis:

“In Monarch, the Romans are passionate and fiercely talented, but while their name is synonymous with honesty, the very foundation of this family’s success is a lie.

When dangerous truths bubble to the surface, the Romans’ reign as country royalty is put in jeopardy. Nicky Roman, the brilliant and fierce heir to the crown, already battling an industry and world stacked against her, will stop at nothing to protect her family’s legacy.

It’s finally her turn. But is it too late?”

Other actors in Monarch include Josh Sasse, Meagan Holder, Martha Migareda, Emma Milani, Inigio Pasual, Eva Amurri, and Adam Croasdell.

The show is set to debut on January 30th of next year.
