Miranda Lambert And Brent Cobb’s Live Performance Of “Sweet By And By” Is Good For The Soul

Miranda Lambert and Brent Cobb

Talk about a power duo.

Back in 2016, a song they co-wrote “Sweet By and By,” was included on the tracklist for Dave Cobb’s collaborative Southern Family album.

Miranda told Rolling Stone the personal track was inspired by her family and the way she grew up in east Texas:

“I think if you’re from the South, you’re just a little more proud than anybody that’s not.”

The record featured plenty of other country superstars in Chris and Morgane Stapleton, Jason Isbell and Shooter Jennings, too.

Miranda and Brent performed the song together live only a handful of times, but the must-watch performance at City Winery in Nashville in January of 2016 is stellar.

Their beautiful harmonies and personal songwriting mesh so well together. You just can’t beat a country song like this one.

With Miranda releasing her first new solo song in almost two years, “If I Was A Cowboy,” it makes sense to think an album announcement is likely on the way soon…

And, since its been years since these two teamed up together, if there is a new record coming, I really hope a Brent Cobb co-write makes its way onto the tracklist again:

Brent also co-wrote the hilarious track, “Old Sh!t”, with Neil Mason for Miranda’s 2014 Platinum album:
