Chris Stapleton Teams Up With Rage Against The Machine Guitarist Tom Morello For “The War Inside”

Chris Stapleton, the man can do it all.

We’ve seen him venture outside the country realms many times before, singing a song with Justin Timberlake, covering a Metallica song, and most recently, a song with the legendary guitar God, Carlos Santana.

Needless to say, he’s not defined by one genre.

And in his latest effort to become the most well-rounded artist in all of music, he’s teamed up with Tom Morello, guitarist for Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave.

Morello just released a solo project titled The Atlas Underground Fire, featuring number of music legends like Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, and even Chris Stapleton for the song, “The War Inside.”

Here’s a look at the chorus from “The War Inside,” sort of reminiscent of Morello’s work with the late, great Chris Cornell and Audioslave.

“So high
I can hear the angels cry
Hellbound
Helpless heart, about to drown
I need
To change the things that I believe
Bye, bye
I can’t win the war inside.”

Talk about greatness teaming up with greatness.

Not to mention, Nashville super producer Dave Cobb was involved with the song as well.

According to Rolling Stone, Dave to produced and recorded the song in Nashville with members of Chris’ band, while Morello recorded his guitar work from Los Angeles.
