Stop What You’re Doing And Watch Arlo McKinley Cover The HELL Out Of Rihanna’s “Stay”

Wwhere the HELL has this video been all my life?

Arlo McKinley singing Rihanna’s massive hit “Stay” is truly one of the best things I’ve ever seen.

He actually covers it pretty often, but this particular video is from Eddie’s Attic in Nashville, Tennessee, over the summer.

If you know Arlo, you know how damn good he really is, but the fact that he can take a top-40 pop hit and make it sound like he wrote it back home in Ohio, and could’ve included it on the Die Midwestern tracklist is pretty amazing.

The song was written by Ekko and Justin Parker, and originally included on Rihanna’s seventh studio album, Unapologetic. After being released as the second single from the album, it went #1 on the Billboard U.S. Mainstream Top 40 in 2013.

If I didn’t know any better, the way he sings the haunting, striking lyrics in the chorus with his gritty vocals, I’d think it was his own original track:

“Not really sure how to feel about it
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can’t live without you
It takes me all the way
And I want you to stay”
