On This Date: Alan Jackson Drops “Country Boy” In 2008

What blows my mind the most about Alan Jackson, is sustaining success for such a long period of time.

The guy drops heater after heater, and he’s been doing it from 1990, all the way up to this year.

Just look back at his track record…

His 2008 Good Time album is arguably one of his most recognizable albums to date, boasting jams like “Good Time,” “Small Town Southern Man,” and “Country Boy.”

And “Country Boy” was dropped on this date back in 2008, his third single from the iconic album.

I mean, when he hit us with this line…

“Cause I’m a country boy, I’ve got a four-wheel drive, Climb in my bed, I’ll take you for a ride…”

Getting a lil’ sexual aye Alan? Or are you talking about the actual bed of a truck? Both? You gotta love 50 year old Alan Jackson singing about taking a ride in his bed.

The song hit number one on the Billboard country chart, the 25th #1 of his historic career.
