11-Year-Old Kid Is Accidentally Stabbed By Haunted House Actor, Still Finishes The Run Like A Champ

A person in a white robe

I’ll be the first to say it, I’m an incredibly jumpy person.

Somebody surprisingly taps me on my shoulder? I’m jumping outta my seat like a bat outta hell.

So you can imagine, I don’t fare too well at haunted houses…

However, the one thing that always keeps me coming back is I know the characters can’t do anything to me, or they’re getting locked up, and the cops are throwing away the key. Ok, not really… but they’re not allowed to touch you.

On the other hand, you also don’t know what kind of psychos work at these places.

For one family in Berea, Ohio… they happened to run into one of these psychos.

According to News 5 Cleveland, Berea police were called to the 7 Floors of Hell haunted house at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds at 8:15 PM Saturday after somebody reported a stabbing.

The officers discovered that a worker got a lil’ too carried away, and stabbed an 11-year-old boy in the foot with a Bowie knife.

They said that the actor, 22-year-old Christopher Pogozelski, was scraping a large Bowie knife on the ground at their feet when he accidentally caught the 11-year-old boy’s foot.

Karen Bednarski, mother of the victim, weighed in on the scary situation:

“He walked up to my son and he was holding the knife and his intentions were to scare him, but my son responded to him by saying, ‘That’s fake. I’m not scared.'”

That’s when Pogozelski started stabbing the ground at the kid’s feet.

She added:

“I’m highly upset… they just kept saying accidents happen, accidents happen.”

Apparently, the actor was supposed to be using a fake knife instead of a real knife, which he brought from home.

Bednarski added that the workers said they are not allowed to administer first aid, but eventually got the kid patched up. She said she had concerns about the actor moving forward:

“The biggest thing for me is, you know, I don’t understand the mental state of this man.

There’s got to be something wrong with him, and he should not be working at an establishment like that. That’s what makes me upset.”

And the best part? The kid still wanted to go through the haunted house, slashed toe and all.

It’s a long way from the heart, amirite kid?

Unfortunately for the idiot actor, the mom decided to press charges.

Lt. Tom Walker of the Berea Police Department confirmed to News 5 that Christopher Pogozelski was charged with negligent assault:

“I can’t explain why he brought the real knife. He should have been using a fake prop or rubber, rubber knife.

Obviously, a poor decision on his part to bring a real knife to the fairgrounds. And he’s been criminally charged with negligent assault as a result of making that decision.”

Here’s a look at the knife that was used:
