Throwback To Miranda Lambert’s Stunning Cover Of The Patsy Cline Hit “Crazy”

This might be one of the best covers I’ve ever seen.

I don’t know how I’ve never seen this video before, but Miranda Lambert singing Patsy Cline is everything I never knew I needed.

At the Country 2 Country Festival in 2016 (which she’ll be headlining again in 2022), she sang Patsy’s hit “Crazy” at the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow, Scotland.

Of course, the song was originally written by the one and only Willie Nelson, but shot to the #2 spot on the country charts in 1962 when Patsy released her version that year.

Miranda thanked the crowd for coming out to the show before going into a stunning, acoustic version of the song that will absolutely blow you away:

“We’re tired, but we’ve been drinkin’ and eatin’ and suffering through, but this was all worth it. Thank you for coming tonight, we really appreciate it.

I noticed that you sang along to like, everybody’s album cuts. Ashley’s and Dwight’s and TR’s, and it means a lot to use when you go deep in the music.

So, I figure you’re really big country music fans. So we’re gonna do a little Patsy Cline for y’all.”

I feel like Miranda has never gotten all the credit she deserves in terms of how good of a vocalist she really is. Until this year with her raw, stripped-down record The Marfa Tapes, I think a lot of people overlooked that aspect of her music in some ways.

Her voice was made to sing country music, and if this doesn’t prove that, I don’t know what will:
