What an incredible gesture for our fallen service members.

If you’re not familiar with Coffey Anderson, he was on the sixth and final season of the television singing competition Nashville Star way back in 2008. (Remember that show? It introduced us to artists like Chris Young, Miranda Lambert and Kacey Musgraves).

Well since his time on Nashville Star, Coffey has continued to record under his own independent label, Coffey Global LLC, and he still tours and releases quite a bit of music.

One of those songs that he’s released on his own is “Mr. Red White and Blue,” a patriotic tribute to the men and women who lay down their lives for their country.

After 13 service members were tragically killed in a bombing at the Kabul airport during the evacuation of Afghanistan, “Mr. Red White and Blue” went viral on TikTok in tributes to our fallen heroes.

This caught the attention of Coffey himself, who offered to perform the song at the funerals of any of the service members whose families wanted him to (at his own expense):

And that’s exactly what he did, ultimately accepting requests from six of the thirteen families to perform “Mr. Red White and Blue” and “Amazing Grace” at the funerals for their fallen loved ones.

And as he returned home from performing at six funerals in a week, Coffey’s wife Criscilla posted a video showing the neighborhood gathering to welcome Coffey back and thank him for paying respect to our service members.
