Morgan Wallen, Granger Smith & More To Play Country Thunder At Bristol Motor Speedway

Morgan Wallen is taking over Country Thunder in his home state of Tennessee.

Announced as the headliner of the festival yesterday, he’ll be joined by friends Granger Smith, Jon Langston, Larry Fleet and Ernest.

Country Thunder is a multiple-state festival, hosting music in five different states every year like Wisconsin, Iowa, Florida, Arizona, Tennessee, as well as two in Canada.

Earlier this year, Morgan was scheduled to be the headliner of Country Thunder Wisconsin, but was replaced by Eric Church after Morgan announced he would not tour in the summer of 2021.

You have to think this show will be huge for Morgan, considering he’s headed back home to play in East Tennessee in what will really be his first true concert or festival appearance (aside from his recent benefit concert for flood victims in Middle Tennessee) since everything went down with his racial slur incident earlier this year.

Country Thunder also posted a video of Morgan making the announcement:

“What’s goin’ on guys, it’s Morgan Wallen. I’m so excited to get to say to my home state of Tennessee I’m taking over Country Thunder Bristol at Bristol Motor Speedway on October 30th.

I’ll be bringin’ some of my boys with me, and it’s gonna be one hell of a homecoming.

Can’t wait to see y’all there. Get your tickets this Tuesday, September 21st at countrythunder.com. Y’all be good.”

The show is scheduled for October 30th, and tickets go on sale this Tuesday, September 21 at 8 am.
