‘Sunday Night Football’ Returns With Carrie Underwood Kicking Things Off

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… football is FINALLY back.

With a full slate of college football games on Saturday and the start of the NFL regular season yesterday, it doesn’t get any better than that for football fans all over the country. I don’t know about y’all, but I have been counting down the days for the return of both leagues since the seasons ended earlier this year.

And, there’s another familiar face coming back for this season of NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Carrie Underwood returns to TV screens across America for the ninth year in a row to sing the opening song “Waiting All Day For Sunday Night”.

They shot the video on industrial light & magic’s cutting-edge LED sound stage using virtual production technology (recently used in “The Mandalorian”) in order to create a virtual tailgate as the backdrop to her performance to coincide with each different game across the country.

Of course, each week the song will vary a bit depending on which teams are playing and where the game is. But last night, the SNF season kicked off (pun intended) in Los Angeles at the incredible SoFi stadium as the Rams put a hurtin’ on the Chicago Bears with a 34-14 victory to start the season 1-0.

Here’s Carrie absolutely crushing it and welcoming football back into our lives again… a beautiful sight to see:
