Remembering The Great Troy Gentry

I can’t believe it’s been four years…

It’s no secret that Montgomery Gentry will go down as one of the best country music duos in the business, a cornerstone country music group for those of us trying to navigate the awkward stage of middle school and high school in the early 2000s.

From “Something To Be Proud Of,” to “Where I Come From,” to “Hell Yeah,” “Lucky Man,” the list goes on and on. The duo racked up 16 top 10 hits between 1999 to 2012, each one more recognizable than the next.

I mean, if you didn’t have mix CD with Montgomery Gentry on it at some point in your life, are you even a country music fan?

Four years ago today, Troy Gentry passed away after a tragic helicopter crash in Medford, New Jersey, and it’s still difficult to fathom.

Of course, Troy’s life and legacy will continue to live on through the music he created and the countless other artists he’s inspired, so let’s all take a moment to pause and remember some of these great Montgomery Gentry hits.

Here’s to the great Troy Gentry.
